"Deborah Jordan taught yoga to the Varsity Baseball Team in February, March 2003 and this last year January -April 2004. We hope to have her back this next year as well. This class began when I asked Deborah to help us with our pre-season conditioning. Deborah designed a yoga class that was sport-specific to baseball. The first year we met only during the pre-season but this year we extended the instruction into the season by having her attend practices and work with position-specific groups: in-fielders, out-fielders, pitchers & catchers.

I, myself, attended the classes. They were physically challenging but Deborah modified stretches for different levels of flexibility or recovery from injury. She also addressed the mental game by reading inspiring quotes from professional athletes and talked about concentration and focus. Deborah had excellent rapport with the students.

The players commented to me on their positive experience of this class saying that they were less sore on the days they did yoga and they slept better. Parents gave Deborah similar feedback as well. Overall, the team was very receptive to yoga and I believe the cross-training helped prevent injuries. I recommend Deborah as a committed and experienced teacher."
